The Getty Villa 🗯 You can spare an entire morning or afternoon to wander, very, very worth visiting!

✨This place is a sanctuary for art lovers.
The J.Paul Getty Museum consists of two parts: the Getty Center and the Getty Villa. The collection, exhibitions and outdoor art displays of the Getty Center cover a comprehensive history of Europe and the Americas from the Middle Ages to contemporary times.

🗯The collections of the Getty Center include European paintings, sketches, and gold manuscript decorations before the 20th century; sculptures and decorative arts; American, European and Asian photographic works from the 19th to the 20th centuries; contemporary and modern sculptures, and the Central Garden specially designed by Robert Irwin for the Getty Center.

🎈In the Getty Center's four exhibition halls, the museum's collection of European paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts are on long-term display. These collections are generally displayed according to era and creator's nationality.

📌 The North Pavilion mainly displays paintings and sculptures and decorative art from the Medieval and Renaissance periods dating back to around 1600 AD.

📌 The East Pavilion mainly showcases 17th century Baroque art, including Dutch, French, Flemish, Spanish painting and sculpture, plus Italian decorative art from 1600 to 1800 AD.

📌 The South Pavilion mainly showcases 18th-century paintings and the museum's collection of European decorative arts, simultaneously displaying intricately marquetry rooms dating back to around 1800 AD.

📍 The West Pavilion primarily showcases sculpture and Italian decorative art as well as 19th-century painting works from the 18th to the 20th centuries. Neoclassical, romantic, and symbolic style sculptures and decorative art are also on display.

🎊The Getty Villa's collection and exhibitions of ancient art span 7000 years, from the end of the Stone Age to the collapse of the Roman Empire.

⭐️ The Getty Villa houses about 44,000 pieces of Greek, Roman, and Etruscan ancient art from the J. Paul Getty Museum. Over 1,200 collections are on permanent display in 23 exhibition halls, and there are 5 exhibition halls for rotating exhibitions. Its collection spans from 6500 BC to 400 AD, and includes not only monumental sculptures but also artifacts describing daily life.

🖼 The exhibition halls are divided according to different themes, including gods, Dionysus and theaters, stories of the Trojan War, and other themes. In this way, visitors can appreciate the artworks while understanding the ancient social context in which they were created, which helps to deepen their understanding of the ancient world.
